Elected to the Helmetta Borough Council in 1989, Joe had served until 1998. He was asked in 1999 to return to fill in for a one year un-expired seat by a Democratic controlled council. Joe was Council President for seven of those ten years, serving as a member of the Planning Board, as Emergency Management coordinator, Sanitation Committee Chair, and a member of the Drug Alliance Committee.
Joe was past Helmetta Republican Chair, and is the current Helmetta Republican Vice-Chair. Active in politics, Joe had been a 2005 candidate for Middlesex County Clerk, 2006 12th District Congressional Candidate. Having knocked on over 10,000 doors in 2007 as NJ State Assembly Candidate, Joe missed wining the Assembly seat under a 6% margin.
Joe has operated and owned a minor home repair business, an auto supply store, a service station & convenience store, and was past CEO of My Plumber, Inc.
Joe is employed at Miele Inc., located in Princeton NJ, as Facilities Manager.
Joe believes the only way to make change for the better, is to get involved and understand what it is the people want, not personal interests. His candidacy has been about the voters, lower taxes, business and a leaner government.
He is a fighter against tax increases, and will continue the fight against bureaucratic red tape in government.
As your elected Assemblyman he will do whatever is achievable to represent the values and needs of the citizens in the 18th District.
He will fight to help small businesses provide employee healthcare. Joe was amongst a handful of candidates who received the small business endorsement two years in a row.
As your Assemblyman, Joe will fight for fiscal responsibility, individual freedoms, and conservative values.
Vote Joe Sinagra to NJ Assembly in 2009, to represent you in 2010.
About Bob
Bob Jones lives in South Plainfield, where he was elected to the South Plainfield Board of Education in 2007. For two years Bob chaired the finance committee and helped reduce taxes, while at the same time, enhancing education and expanding programs.
Bob continues to serve on the school board and is involved with several key projects, including developing a shared-services program with the local municipal governing body. In addition, in 2008 he helped the school system obtain one of the largest COPS grants in the country from the Department of Justice. The grant is being used to help fund security cameras for the district’s High School and Middle School campuses.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Bob is product of South Plainfield’s public schools and New Jersey’s higher education system. After graduating from South Plainfield High School, he earned an undergraduate degree from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, and in 1993 he earned a law degree from Rutgers Law School-Newark.
In addition to his work as an attorney, Bob teaches law at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the school’s Paralegal Studies Program. Since 1999 he’s also served on the program’s Board of Advisors.
Community service is something Bob feels strongly about: He is a trustee of the South Plainfield Education Foundation, which raises scholarship money for local high school seniors, and he is member of UNICO, the country’s largest Italian-American organization.
In addition, Bob is a former chairman of the South Plainfield Republican Organization, and he served on the South Plainfield Land Management Commission in the mid-1980s. From 1991 to 1998 Bob was a trustee for the Ronald McDonald House in Long Branch, NJ, and for several years before that he volunteered time to help with fundraising and writing/editing the organization’s Housecall newsletter.
In 2008 Bob was honored for his accomplishments in education, community service, government service, and service to humanity by election to the South Plainfield High School Hall of Fame.
