Friends, Neighbors & Fellow Republicans,
Election Day is upon us. Voters in the Garden
State have a chance to vote for real change on Tuesday.
For the final 2007 election installment of our
'Courageous Community Leader' series, I'd like to re-introduce a
good friend of mine, Joe Sinagra. As you know, Joe's not a
stranger to the campaign trail as he has a continuous record of
public advocacy on behalf of homeowners, families and
middle-class taxpayers. Joe's a family man, a veteran and local
leader who believes that we need to do more than just talk about
fixing our state - we need to act. He's running this year for
the Assembly in the 18th legislative district.
Joe is running along with his two able ticket
mates, Bill England and Dan Brown. The campaign is being run by
two 'Red Shirts Volunteers' Ben DeMarzo and Matt Mowers. You may
remember these hard- chargers who started their active
involvement in New Jersey grassroots politics as high school
students in 2004. I'm proud of the job they've done through the
years to maintain a high level of commitment and activity and
Joe, Bill and Dan are fortunate to have these rising stars on
their team.
Joe is running for the Assembly to vote to cap
state spending. He's running to stop the dramatic tax increases
that have been levied by the corrupt officials in Trenton.
Property taxes are up nearly forty percent over what we paid
just five short years ago. State debt is mounting and corruption
probes have made New Jersey a laughing stock around the country.
The worst effect of our current crisis of confidence and
leadership is the departure of thousands of residents choosing
to leave behind the corruption, taxes and incompetence of our
state government for a more affordable life outside of New
Jersey.
Joe Sinagra has lived in Helmetta for the past
three decades. He and his wife Patricia raised three great
children; Joe Jr. and Jeff were both members of the Marine Honor
Guard and Silent Drill Team. Sadly, Jeff passed away during his
enlistment due to an unfortunate accident. Their daughter
Michele picked up the same patriotic call and also proudly
served our nation by enlisting in the United States Marine
Corps.
Always being a man of action and leadership, Joe
did more than just talk about community service, he did
something about it. He was elected and served for ten years on
the Helmetta Borough Council. For seven of those years, Joe was
the Council President. He's served on the planning
board,,sanitation commission and as the Emergency Management
Coordinator. After his honorable discharge from the United
States Air Force, Joe successfully owned and operated two small
businesses. Currently he's a facilities manager for Miele, Inc.
in Princeton.
Bill England, a financial planner, lives in
South River where he serves on the local Board of Education. Dan
Brown, running on the ticket as a candidate for the State
Senate, is an attorney from East Brunswick.
Joe, Bill and Dan will fight to reduce the
intrusion of government on our states small businesses. Small
business is the backbone of our state and the best way to
provide health insurance and create opportunity for the next
generation. Creating a business friendly New Jersey will help to
increase job opportunities to encourage more kids who go off to
college outside New Jersey to return home and invest back into
the local community.
Tomorrow is our opportunity to restore common
sense, responsible and open government in districts and towns
across the Garden State. State and local spending practices are
out-of-control. One-party domination in many areas has stifled
reasonable debate and led to a corruption of our government
system.
We've identified the problems and offered the
solutions. Cast your vote tomorrow for the Courageous Community
Leader in your town.
